I talk about self-care a lot but it’s much easier said than done. I’m leaving on a quick business trip for a day and my son asked if “I’m flying away from him.” My daughter repeated “mommy don’t go, I want to go with you” with sad puppy eyes. ⁣🥺

I’m seasoned enough to know they are gonna be okay but as their primary caretaker, this achy feeling you get when leaving the babies never truly go away. You just become better at weighing out the pros and cons, navigating the emotions with delicate care and a bit of logic. ⁣

I’m certainly leaving on a business trip but the truth is, this is a rare moment of solitude for me. Since when did business trips become a form of self-care and why do we feel guilt? ⁣
