What to Buy for a Baby Shower

What to Buy for a Baby ShowerIt can be tricky to choose the perfect gift for a baby shower even if the parents-to-be have a registry. Even though most people aren’t having normal baby showers right now due to COVID-19, you can still order a nice gift from Amazon as a way to help the parents celebrate.

If you don’t have children, determining what to buy for a baby shower may leave you staring at your computer screen for hours. Plus, if it is someone’s second, third, or fourth baby, they may not even have a registry with gifts to choose from.

Today I’ll share some of my favorite baby shower gifts in today’s post to help you choose the perfect baby gift!

Practical Gifts

It’s so much fun to pick out the perfect gift for a new baby boy or girl. Who doesn’t love gifting a stylish baby headband or the softest stuffed animals? Baby things are adorable. However, I recommended looking for the items that people might glance over because they aren’t as “fun” to gift! These are usually the items that mom and dads need for everyday use.

Ubbi: the next time you look at a registry, I guarantee you that their diaper pail will still be available. I don’t know why, but people always skip this one! The ubbi is by far my favorite diaper pail I’ve used.

Diaper Caddy: This diaper caddy makes the best addition to the Ubbi diaper pail.

Diapers: Perhaps this is the most practical baby shower gift of all. Any new mom or dad will be grateful to add to their diaper stash! If you’re feeling extra generous, I recommended getting multiple boxes in a few different sizes.

MamaRoo: Some may not see this as practical, but I sure do! Our experience with this swing has been wonderful. It mimics the motions of being held, and has a sleek design that is a space saver.

Night Light: This night light is so nice to have in the nursery for late-night feedings. It can be used long after the newborn stage as a traditional nightlight for toddlers.

Gifts for feeding

Comotomo Bottles: These bottles have always been my favorite. They have fewer parts to wash than most other brands. I’d recommend purchasing various size bottles for the new baby.

Medela Freestyle Flex Pump: Medela has always been a popular and trusted brand for pumping. They recently came out with their newest model, the Freestyle Flex. The most notable features are its portability, touch screen, and rechargeable battery.

Gifts for sleeping

Aiden and Anais Swaddles: Swaddle blankets are the perfect practical baby shower gift because they are multi-purpose. Parents can use them to wrap a baby to sleep in, use as a nursing cover, or stroller blanket! Plus, Aiden and Anais blankets are so soft and come in a variety of prints.

Snoo: We tried the Snoo for the first time with our most recent baby. It is a gift sent from the heavens. Seriously. It makes putting the baby to sleep a breeze, and even gradually stops rocking once your baby is asleep. If you buy this gift for a family member or friend, they will be ecstatic.

Owlet Monitor: What is a better gift to buy for a baby shower than one that will bring peace of mind to the new mom and dad? I was introduced to the owlet monitor this year, and now recommend it to all my mom friends. This device tracks the baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels while they are sleeping. The connected app notifications will also alert you if any levels are irregular.

Dreamegg White Noise Sound Machine: A must-have baby shower gift is a white noise machine. I like this one because it’s affordable, well-made, and easy to travel with!

Gifts for parents on the go:

If the parents you are buying for spend a lot of time traveling or are very social, the best gift to buy for a baby shower is one that they can take on the go.

Nalakai Wrap: a wrap makes it easy for mom to take their baby anywhere with them. It can also offer privacy while nursing. The Nalakai is soft, lightweight, and has a variety of color options.

Honest Diaper Bag: A diaper bag is an everyday item for many people. In my opinion, backpacks make for easy and comfortable diaper bags.

UPPAbaby Cruz V2 stroller: I’ve tried out many strollers over the years, and the UPPAbaby brand is one that I love. The Cruz is a compact full size stroller, which makes it the perfect size.

Dockatot: The dockatot has been a favorite for a few years now. It’s so easy to take with you anywhere, and can be used for co-sleeping while traveling.
