As we wrapped up Thanksgiving and welcomed the Christmas season of 2020, I embraced a year of transformation.
Neutral Pastel Holiday Mantle At Mommy Diary Home
In 2020, I began to decorate earlier than usual for Christmas because my soul needed it, desperately. I had a baby in January and in midst of learning how to be a mom of four, the pandemic hit and the kids had been home everyday since March.
It was a challenging year, to say the least. It was a year of tremendous fallbacks and growth for me.
I felt like I took 2 steps back because I couldn’t do some of the things I said I was going to do in 2020. I wanted to begin working on a book (my childhood dream!), but that didn’t happen due to lack of space and time, and I wanted to launch a course, but I barely can find the time to meet my current deadlines.
Often life at home was all about survival and I drank way more wine than I’d like to admit.
But Instead of focusing on what I couldn’t get done, I pivoted and thought about what I CAN do instead. And instead of overthinking and over-planning, I opened my mind and heart to new possibilities.
In May of 2020, I launched a new podcast in 4 days (yes it took me 4 days because I somehow had everything I needed to begin- it was a clear sign! You can read this post for how that came about) and raised a new baby who was 10 months old by Christmas. How fast 2020 flew by and what a transformative year it was.
My Neutral Pastel Holiday Mantel
I decided to create a holiday fireplace mantel that used neutral colors and pastel accents. As I put it together, I considered everything I was grateful for. 2020 was one of the hardest years of my life but also the best because I got to spend extra time with my family and learn to be grateful every little thing.
As you can tell, I reused some items from the fall holiday mantle. I’m all about versatility and buying mindfully to save money and time.
When it comes to picking out my holiday decor, I also like to incorporate things that create a cozy Christmas atmosphere in my living room. For you, this might mean covering your mantel in the same twinkle lights as your Christmas tree. Or perhaps your decor ideas are more vibrant and colorful. It’s all about what brings you joy.
I hope this gives you some Christmas mantel decorating ideas to make your holiday brighter this year.
