Something Like Destiny

Thirty something years later, I still believe this.

Perhaps my belief is a way of wanting the story of my life to make sense. If this turns out to be untrue, my life will be thrown back into chaos, into the black hole of late teens & early 20’s without a clear sense of direction and vision.

Or perhaps my belief comes from the truth– the one simple truth that we mustn’t forget in this crazy, unpredictable cycle called life.

Faith in something we’ve never seen, faith in something intangible and omnipresent like Destiny.

Everything happens for a reason; the break up, the falling out, the divorce, the reunion, the random encounter, the unexpected glance, the occasional fluttering of the heart.

Everything happens for a reason, and nothing is random.
