What’s the most used item in your household? For my family, it’s paper towels. With three kids, two dogs and a husband, there’s so much activity and mess in every room of my home that I absolutely cannot imagine living without paper towels. I like using paper towels because they’re easier and quicker to use compared to traditional towels that need constant washing. Because we go through so many paper towels in my home, I always purchase them in bulk to save time and money- and before I go into my cleaning tips, I have a great deal for you on my favorite paper towel!
Bounty Quick Size is currently offering a special deal on Amazon with coupon code 5QUICKBOUNTY. And during check-out, you can get an additional $2 off coupon – it’s an awesome deal you don’t want to miss!
With that said, here are my simple tips on how to spring clean your home, the easy way.
1. Assign a day and stick to the plan
The hardest part of spring cleaning is getting started. I personally enjoy cleaning and feel great when it’s done but procrastination creeps in before I even get started. Therefore, it’s best to designate a day for spring cleaning, announce it to the whole family beforehand (you can even assign roles for each member) and stick to the plan. Remind yourself how great you’ll feel once it’s done.
And don’t forget to blast fun, upbeat music and treat yourself to your favorite cup of coffee or tea before getting started. 😉
2. De-clutter, throw away and donate before cleaning
Spring is the perfect time to de-clutter, throw away and donate things that are no longer needed. This includes old clothing, towels, blankets, toys, books as well as small appliances, tools and other things that no longer serve you. Don’t get into the habit of holding onto old things because this only creates more mess and stress down the road.
When in doubt, ask yourself when was the last time you used that particular item. If it hasn’t been used in over 6 months to a year, chances are you won’t miss it even when it’s gone.
3. Simplify your cleaning products
I used to own many different cleaning products thinking I needed them all. Nowadays I keep my products simple and mostly use natural ingredients like water, vinegar, lemon and baking soda. Vinegar is the most versatile cleaning solution and can be used on many different surfaces such as windows, blinds, cabinets, appliances and even floors. Simply mix it with warm water and baking soda to create a multifunctional and non-toxic cleaning solution.
Lemons can also be used to disinfect and remove odor. If the smell of vinegar bothers you, you can add drops of essential oils to help with the smell.
Spring cleaning is the perfect way to de-clutter and remove old, stagnant energy from the home and invite new and positive things into your life. It takes extra work, time and dedication of course, but it’s one task you’ll never regret partaking in.

I definitely agree with making a little schedule. It helps when you’re held accountable, even if it’s only to yourself!
