Zara kids for fall and back-to-school

It’s that time of year again. As we wave goodbye to the summer, we say hello to a new school year. And, for many parents, that also means fall and back-to-school shopping. For me, I feel like this is one of the most special moments before getting back into the rush of things. One day my kids will want to pick out (and buy!) their own clothing, so I enjoy sharing these moments while they’re here.

In the past, I’ve posted “Back-to-School Outfits for Girls,” sharing outfits for all ages. But today, I thought I’d share a roundup of back-to-school outfits for both boys and girls. Hopefully this spark some inspiration and get everyone excited for the first day back.

When it comes to shopping for school clothes, Zara Kids has so many good options. I like going about twice a year for nicer neutral everyday outfits. I also like that they last longer and can go through multiple kids. Zara styles are pretty neutral so you can wear them year after year.

Fall Outfits for Boys

Matching Jogger Set

A interlock hoodie and jogger set is the perfect way to start the school year. It’s neutral and easy to throw on, and it looks put-together without requiring much effort. Plus, the material is versatile enough for your kid’s entire school day, whether that involves recess, P.E., or just sitting in class. It’s a trendy style that will work all season long.

T-Shirt and Jeans

You really can’t go wrong with a classic pair of denim and a simple, basic sold-colored tee. It’s stylish, comfortable, and practical. And with an outfit like this, there’s room to incorporate personality. If it’s a little chilly (and your kid’s school allows it), add a fun beanie. Or you could let your kid pick out their favorite pair of shoes. It’s an easy look that works for anything.

Knit Vest

I really love adding a vest on top of a long-sleeve whenever I can. It’s a preppier, smart style, perfect for picture days or school presentations. It’s incredibly easy to layer, making it warm without the bulk—great if it’s still too early in the season for thick jackets or coats. And since it’s such a statement layer by itself, it doesn’t need any extra prints, patterns, or accessories to dress it up. Just a simple pair of pants and a basic long-sleeve.

Matching Shorts Set

Another matching set because they just work so well for younger boys. It makes getting dressed hassle-free, and the style works so well for various occasions. If it’s still early into the season and you’re dealing with not-warm-but-not-cold temperatures, swap the joggers and hoodie out for an interlock t-shirt and Bermuda shorts. It’s just as comfortable, just as stylish, but a little more breathable.

Striped Knit T-Shirt

Rather than dressing in heavy coats, a long-sleeve t-shirt over a pair of jeans is the perfect medium. And on days where your kid requests a little more from their outfits, a striped print pattern feels like just enough. It isn’t too busy, but it adds a fun touch of personality that works well with a variety of different bottoms.

Flared Leggings Matching Set

Similar to before, a matching set for girls means effortless style and endless comfort. And in this case, you have a little bit of versatility when choosing—styles come flared, straight-leg, wide-leg, and more. This t-shirt and washed flare leggings set uses a solid-color style and durable material, making it easy to wear throughout the season and ready for whatever your daughter’s school day may hold.

Bouclé Floral Cardigan

This floral cardigan is cute, stylish, and warm, making it a great piece to add to your back-to-school lineup. It has this soft, fluffy texture, and I like the subtle floral detailing for a little extra touch. You could style it unbuttoned over a t-shirt for extra breathability, or you could leave it buttoned if you’re styling this look later into the fall season.

Ribbed Long-Sleeve

The fun thing about choosing long-sleeves for girls all lies in the little details. Instead of grabbing a standard option, I love this ribbed heart t-shirt. It has a very small heart detailing on the front, a simple round neck, and a cute ruffle trim. It adds just the right amount of personality and flair when paired with a classic pair of jeans.

Floral Culottes

If your daughter isn’t the biggest fan of traditional denim (it can feel restrictive at times), dressing them in floral culottes is the perfect alternative. These pants use an elastic waistband for added comfort, and embroidered flowers at the hem for a little extra style. Plus, these pants are surprisingly versatile. You can pair them with anything from a basic t-shirt to a fitted cardigan.

Poplin Pocket Shirt

Paired with the right pants, a poplin pocket shirt makes the cutest, sophisticated look for girls. It feels polished and structured, but it maintains a flowy, relaxed style with the loose hem. Like I mentioned with the cardigan, you can button it for a more cohesive look, or unbutton it and pair it with a t-shirt for a breathable, laid-back look.

From classroom to playground, Zara Kids keeps them stylish all fall!

As we conclude the summer season and head into a new school year, there’s plenty of reasons to get excited. New memories, new opportunities, and new styles to dress your kids in. Once they reach middle-school age, they’ll begin to want to pick out their own outfits and find their own sense of self. So, if your kids are still depending on you for their seasonal looks, dress them in the best! Zara Kids offers endless style, comfort, and versatility. I hope you all have a great start to the new school year!
