Postpartum Hair Ritual: Healthy Hair Care For Scalp

*This post is sponsored by Rooted Rituals. As always, all opinions are my own.

One of the most important parts of hair care is taking care of our scalp. I know, because after going through four pregnancies and postpartum, my hair has gone through various stages from dry scalp to hair loss and everything in between.

The secret to healthy and beautiful hair starts at the roots. When your scalp contains dead skin cells and product build up, it makes it that much harder for your hair to grow and thrive. Today I want to share with you my 3 favorite tips for dry scalp treatment with Rooted Rituals.

Rooted Rituals Hair Care For Scalp

I’ve been using the Rooted Rituals product line to restore my hair and dry scalp and the results have been amazing. It contains beneficial ingredients like ginger root, charcoal, mint, aloe and Vitamin E and targets all my scalp care and hair treatments needs.

1. Cleanse your scalp

Ginger Root and Mint Quick-Rinse Scalp Scrub contains micro-exfoliators that scrub into a gentle lather and quickly rinse to remove product build up. It’s a non-stripping cleanser that improves scalp condition as you wash.

It smells amazing and feels great against my scalp. You can also use the Clarifying Shampoo to “reset” your wash.

2. Condition your hair

I’m sure you know by now that conditioning your hair is an important step of dry scalp treatment and hair care. Rooted Rituals offers various products that provide ideal moisturization for your hair such as Silicone-Free conditioner and Deep Hydrating Concentrate

They work better than traditional conditioners and the Multi-task Leave-on Mask provides extra hydration that my hair needs without triggering excess oil production.

3. Treat your scalp

This is the first time I’ve really taken the extra time and steps to treat my scalp issues and I can already tell the difference. My favorite part is the Root Rejuvenating Scalp Massager that rejuvenates and massages my scalp. It feels amazing and I can’t believe I lived without it!

The best part is that you can use it in the shower or out of the shower with the Cooling and Strengthening Tonic. It won’t leave you with a super oily scalp, either! You can also use it without product while you’re watching TV or just chilling to stimulate your scalp.

Studies have shown that scalp massage can increase hair thickness, promote hair growth, and remove dead skin. So it’s an excellent hair care regimen for anyone. Especially postpartum mothers who struggle with hair loss.

How Often Should You Wash Your Natural Hair?

You should take several factors into consideration when determining how often to wash your hair. For example, fine and medium hair types can typically be washed every other day, whereas if you have medium to coarse hair, you should consider washing your hair every 3 to 4 days. If you have curly hair, you are best shampooing your hair every 4 to 7 days, and type 4C hair can washed every 2 to 3 weeks.

Also consider the types of products you use. If your hair care routine involves using oils, sprays, and masks that contribute to oily hair or itching and flaking, you might need to wash your hair more frequently to maintain a healthy scalp.

Rooted Rituals offers an extensive line of hair care products that targets dry scalp and promotes healthy hair. I like that all the products target dry scalp and promote healthy hair from the hair follicle. I’m a huge fan and will continue to use them for healthy hair and optimal scalp health!
