Road Trip To San Francisco: My Travel Essentials

san francisco full houseLike many of you, I love to travel. I find traveling to be one of life’s greatest teachers that teach me to be more tolerant, open-minded, self-aware and understanding of the world around me. Traveling is also a great opportunity to bring the family closer together and teach my children how to open their minds and hearts to new places, foods and cultures. For this reason, we make family travel a priority despite our busy schedules. And try to experience new places as often as we can.

Road Trip To San Francisco: My Travel Essentials

This past weekend we took a 7 hour road trip from LA to San Francisco. Road trips are not easy as a family of five. Especially with an active toddler who hates sitting still but we decided it’s worth a try. I mean, we won’t know how well the kids can handle it until we try right?

The last time we took a road trip it was from our home in So Cal to Arizona when Baby D was about 15 months old and slept in longer stretches. That trip took about 5 hours and we were so worried about the baby that we left really early in the morning at about 4 am hoping that he’ll just sleep through the entire drive. It worked out okay for the most part but my husband and I were so tired from the drive that we ended up needing a nap and wasted our entire first day in Arizona.

So this time we decided just to stick to our normal routine and get a good night’s rest instead. We woke up at our usual time around 7 am and left home around 8 am. I also decided to avoid overpacking by opting for dedicated travel-sized personal care items. It’s something I think about but don’t follow through with.

Mom packing for travel

As the mom, I’m responsible for most of the packing for the entire family.

This means even with a complete list, it’s easy to forget the little things like personal care items and beauty essentials. There has been times when I’m scrambling to find something as simple as a razor and nail clipper because I needed them during my travels but didn’t have them on hand.

Thanks to Walgreens, I was much better prepared this time for the entire family. As I discussed here and here, Walgreens Beauty now offers high quality beauty and personal care essentials at an everyday value that is just as high quality as the more premium brands but at a fraction of the price.

walgreens Travel EssentialsFrom travel-sized personal grooming kit, nail polish removers, and disposable razor blades to sunscreen for the whole family, Walgreens Beauty offers a wide selection of travel-sized beauty products that can save so much time, room and energy for the entire family!

Plus, many of the Walgreens Beauty products are available in TSA-approved sizes for carry-ons.

Some Walgreens Beauty items I picked up include nail polish removers pads that are packed in a small box with ten pads. With three manicure-loving girls in the family, this is a must have while traveling to keep your nails looking fresh. I also like their wide selection of organic cotton rounds that are perfect for makeup application and removal. Unlike cheap brands, these rounds don’t shred or tear and are lint-free, perfect to use around your eyes.

Another summer must-have are razors.

Walgreens Beauty offers several types of women’s razors that rival premium brands, but at a fraction of the price. I picked up the Walgreens Beauty Four Blade disposable razors and love their pivoting head, vitamin and aloe enriched lubricating strip and soft touch handle for a better grip, making shaving much easier on my legs.

I also love the facial wipes that are perfect for traveling. It makes make up removal so much easier and more complete. They are hypoallergenic and available in hydrating or exfoliating formula.

Another great Walgreens find is the replacement heads for power toothbrushes that saves money compared to premium brands. I also enjoy using Walgreens cosmetic organizer in Global Getaway print that comes in four sizes. The one that’s pictured is the perfect size to throw into a purse with super cute prints and tassel detail on the zipper. Walgreens Beauty also offers clear, TSA approved cosmetic bags in four sizes!

I’m also impressed with the extensive line of sunscreen products offered at Walgreens such as sunscreen for sport, baby, kids, and dry touch in stick form.

Thanks to Walgreens Beauty, my summer travels will be much easier and mom-friendly. No more forgetting the useful little things that my family needs because a quick trip to Walgreens will keep me fully stocked and travel ready.

  1. Looking for powerful advertising that isn’t full of crap? Sorry to bug you on your contact form but actually that was kinda the point. We can send your promotional copy to websites through their contact pages just like you’re getting this message right now. You can specify targets by keyword or just fire off mass blasts to sites in the location of your choice. So let’s say you need to send a message to all the plumbing companies in the United States, we’ll scrape websites for just those and post your advertisement to them. Providing you’re advertising something that’s relevant to that business category then you’ll be blessed with awesome results!
