Things To Do At Glen Ivy Hot Springs

Can you believe Valentine’s Day is right around the corner? Do you have any special plans for yourself and loved ones?

I have a confession to make. Ever since I became busier with kids and work, I’ve been slacking off in the marriage department. Balancing work life and motherhood is not easy, and when you throw marriage in the mix, it’s often a recipe for intimacy disaster. If you’re married with children, I’m sure many of you know what I’m talking about.

My husband and I are both entrepreneurs, which means we are ALWAYS WORKING. No matter how hard we try to put down our phones at night time, this is usually the golden hour when we begin working on new projects, catch up on emails/messages and brainstorm ideas. This makes our dynamic interesting not only as a couple but as two career oriented individuals, but it also means we really have to make efforts to spend quality one-on-one time.

My husband is usually the one to make all the arrangements for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and Valentine’s Day. He’s a great planner and I’m thankful he takes care of most of our travel plans and itineraries. But this year I wanted to do something special for him, to treat him to a nice couple’s massage and pamper him to show him how much I appreciate his presence in my life.

In celebration of upcoming Valentine’s Day, I arranged a quick getaway to Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona, CA. With three kids including a baby, it’s easier to squeeze in a day time date rather than a date night and Glen Ivy is one of our favorite places to go.

Glen Ivy Hot Springs is hands down, one of the best outdoor spas in Southern California. Here you can find all the amenities you’ll find at any luxury spa with so much more. From salt water pools, mineral water pools, Club Mud, The Grotto to various spa treatments, a full bar and healthy food and drink options, Glen Ivy has something for everyone for a relaxing and exotic getaway.

Now here are some date ideas for you and your significant other at Glen Ivy!

1. Soak and swim in their giant swimming pools

Glen Ivy boasts many pools and saunas including Paradise Falls, Cold Cycle Pool, Hot Cycle Pool, Saline Pool, Vista Pool and Mineral baths.

Don’t forget to stay hydrated with their complimentary water located all over the resort. Clean towels are also provided and robes are available for rental.

2. Grab a drink at their newest bar

I was happy to see that their latest bar The lounge is finally open. Enjoy a drink and good conversation with your lover and rekindle your love. I love that you can have a drink, swim in the pool, get a massage, soak in the hot tub, and enjoy healthy meals and smoothies, all in one afternoon! glen-ivy-corona_0012

3. Take an Instagram worthy photo and tag #GlenIvyHotSprings

4. Eat a healthy meal at their Ivy restaurant

You can find something for everyone at the Ivy kitchen and they have a lot of healthy food options. We opted for poke salad, flat bread and grain bowl (highly recommended) with green tea.

It’s a cafeteria style restaurant where you place the order and get freshly made food in 5-10 minutes.

5. Enjoy their numerous rest areas and lounge zones located all over the resort glen-ivy-corona_0024

One of their signature mud treatment is at the Club Mud where you can enjoy a full body mud pack. Unfortunately I was wearing a brand new pink swimsuit so I couldn’t do this this time around but I plan to try it next time.

TIP: If you plan to do the mud pack, bring an old, darker colored swim suit because the red clay can stain your swimsuits.

6. Get a couple’s massage, relax and have fun!

We enjoyed a 80-minute couple’s massage during our stay. It was much needed relaxation and rejuvenation for both of us. After the massage we lounged around some more, found cool little spots to hang out at and enjoyed our one-on-one time without responsibilities and kids.

And don’t forget to check out their newly renovated coffee shop and rest area during your stay or on your way out!

7. Remember these insider tips

  • Place a credit card on file to simplify your purchases throughout the day. Request a wrist-band for quick ID when purchasing alcoholic beverages.
  • Mark your lounge chair with personal belongings to signify you’re coming back.
  • Arrive to your designated spa villa 15 minutes before your treatment and avoid alcohol for at least 2 hours prior.
  • Check out their classes such as AquaFit, Yoga, Tai Chi and Aqua Zumba.
  • Towels are provided. Robes are available for rental. Wear an old, dark colored swimsuit if you want to enjoy Club Mud.
  • Check out the Roman bath in the locker rooms. It’s amazing!
